TPS Featuring Akemi Homura

Puella Magi Madoka Magica TPS FEATURING Akemi Homura (魔法少女まどかマギカ TPS FEATURING 暁美ほむら, Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magika TPS FEATURING Akemi Homura) is a third person shooter distributed by Frontier Works and developed by Mebius. The game was released on December 16, 2011. The game was available on Android and iOS and cost 600 Yen.

Summary

A mobile third person shooter. You play as Homura Akemi and shoot familiars in a witch's labyrinth, then finally kill the witch. The player gets three lives to control the magical girl Homura and clear stages. The game was announced on December 8, 2011.

Gameplay

The view is from 3rd person perspective. The touch screen is used as a gamepad. Players can control Homura's movement, jump, shoot and set bomb as you want. After minions or witches are killed, a new weapon or items may drop. Initially you only own a pistol, but you can pick up more weapons later on. You have to carefully select your weapon to defeat enemies efficiently. You can also cast magic by stopping time, but your soul gem will be dimmed if you do so. However, players can also pick up items to restore their health and purify Homura's Soul Gem.

The game has ten levels and can be played in easy, normal, and hard mode. As the player defeats each stage boss, notable images from the anime will be unlocked in the game's gallery page.

Two other mobile games have been released due to Homura TPS' popularity.

魔法少女まどかマギカ TPS FEATURING 巴マミ was released on August 8, 2012 for Android, and on November 9, 2012 for iOS.

魔法少女まどかマギカTPS FEATURING さやか&杏子 was released on Yahoo! Market on October 16, 2012, before being subsequently released onto the Google Play Store on October 19, and on the App Store on December 14.

Other Versions

Several versions of the game have been released. Homura TPS was released on the Yahoo! Market on May 22, 2012. A short-lived English translation of Homura TPS was released for Android in August 2012; this version would be removed a year later. The game was released on Au Smart Pass on September 3, 2012; this version of the game featured minor changes to the game's UI. The game was included with the other TPS games in the "Triple Pack" (トリプルパック), which was released on Au Smart Pass on October 24, 2013.

Version 1.2 of Homura TPS, which was released on July 27, 2012, included new and unique voice lines in the game from Homura's voice actress Chiwa Saito.
